Richard III was besmirched by the Tudors, with Shakespeare and More being leading voices in this. Take what was said by both with a very big pinch of salt, they were propagandists, and so cannot be relied on to give even a remotely accurate retelling of events. There are accounts from the time that claim Richard was a very devoted uncle to both of the Princess, which fits in with him being said to have been deeply loyal and loving to his brother, whose death he was said to have mourned greatly. Knowing this, you would be foolish not to question what the Tudors said about him.

Not as innocent as some would have you believe, she played the game and eventually lost. The Tudors were a truly fascinating dynasty.

He was far too obstinate to be King and it was inevitable that he collided with reality and died. His lavish art collection was self-indulgent and off the scale, too. To think that we pass on red buses through the very space where he died is surreal. After all this was not Tower Hill. Charles II erected his statue at the top of Whitehall to gaze forever on the same spot. He was saying: "Monarchy had the final victory". The Banquesting House is a perfect setting for this film. Charles's grandson, William III saved it by blowing up the rest of the palace.

The execution of Charles I is depicted in the novel by Michael Dobbs....be that as it may, but pity the person. Execution is generally barbaric. Although there are creatures in Eurasia that would not be hindered by a slow execution.

In my opinion, Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour did not have a choice to be Henry VIII's wives. There was no way you could refuse the king. Their families and Henry himself are to blame. He is the main culprit and he wouldn't take no for an answer. Henry VIII was planning to divorce Catherine long before Anne came along. He was looking for ways to annul his marriage because Catherine was getting old and could not bear him a son. Because of this, Henry VIII wanted to exchange her for someone younger who could bear him a son. Anne just didn't want to be like any of his lovers because she knew what was going on with them. Her sister, Mary Boleyn, was living proof of that. Anne tried to stay away from the king, but it didn't work. I don't think any of Henry VIII's wives had a choice to be his wife. So it's not right to blame everything on Ann and Jane. It is not known what really happened.

And if it was, they wouldn't have even done anything with the footage, how many times does there staff show up on cctv daily? What would've been special about this clip if it were that easily explained?

Very informative. We can never know enough about those times. What I'm especially intrigued about is the origin of certain fashions in vogue at the court. For example, those immensely wide dresses, one of which is visible in an all-white, 3-D, life-size, modular form there in one room. How & why did such an incredible style develop? I recently learned that George I, first of Britain's Hanoverian kings, used Kensington primarily for parties & entertaining, since he had virtually no interest in the details & minutia of governing. He used these entertainments as a way to connect with the court, with whom most of them he couldn't converse, a way to gain popularity in the only way he, Goerge, knew how. Still, though, how did these extraordinary dresses ever come into fashion? Couldn't've been out of the blue, overnight. Might it have had something to do with catching the king & queen's attention---each lady trying to top the other over time? Even if this was the case, exactly who began the fashion?
